Meeting … Clotilde Doré, speaker at EVE 2017

Eve, Le Blog Social Impact

Clotilde Doré is one of the speakers of the EVE Program 2017.  For several years, she has led a workshop that explores, in a playful way, Jung’s personality types (MBTI approach). We wanted to know more about her job of coach and the advantages of these tools.

1/ What prompted you to become a coach?

Over 15 years ago, I wanted to make the switch from being a strategy consultant to being a coach, and I realized that for leaders to have a real impact on their teams and clients, they need to develop their own sense of being, rather than focus solely on know-how, which is often showcased on gorgeous PowerPoint slides!

My personal journey also guided me, when I discovered the full power of knowing how to access and accept my own vulnerability, which is a real gift in self-development.
So channeling my energy into offering guidance for leaders as they discover their true selves was a natural decision for me!

Now my career path has led me towards being a “business”-focused coach in terms of my clients’ strategic and operational issues, but I also focus on soft skills and all aspects of personal development.

Because in the end, coaching is about “who you really are”!

2/ What are the advantages of the MBTI?

The MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator), which is based on the work of Carl Jung, is a tool that can enable everyone to understand themselves better, and develop more quickly in a more balanced way.

By using simple language, it allows us to understand ourselves better… without value judgments, and therefore give each person the keys they need to open their own doors.

The main advantage of a well-constructed – because it’s not always the case – MBTI approach is that it is dynamic, and in no way pigeonholes people!  It enables them to clearly identify where they have already made good progress in their development, and the issues that still need to be integrated in order to move forward with peace of mind and in the right direction.

And that’s the well-known individuation process described by Carl Jung.

3/ What do you think the leadership of the future looks like?

It will certainly be a form of leadership based on human-focused values, which will center around the satisfaction and development of women and men. It will involve sincerity and authenticity, collective intelligence, the development of knowledge and openness to the world, solidarity, and the magic of positive energy.
