Asia presents a complex and puzzling picture of gender equality and women’s leadership. Despite substantial country variations, the rates of women’s economic participation in Asia are nearly equivalent to those in Europe and North America. Yet the region is still behind the curve of gender equality; its female talent development fails to translate into women’s representation in leadership.
